Up next at Kingsgate Project Space: Lovers and other spectres - PV Fri 29 June 2018 6-9pm

The mythological, the spiritual, and just rotten bad dreams weave tightly into the consciousness that we each use to navigate the everyday. It isn’t possible to police the separation between the rational and any number of other projected (or embodied) anxieties. Each glance is haunted by a miss-seeing, and each utterance is overshadowed by storms of contradiction, self-doubt and regret. The only way to keep going is to welcome these spectres to be a real part our selves and our stories. This exhibition does just that. It welcomes these interruptions, allowing them to be manifest as material presences with their own potent agency in the forms, bodies and narratives that inhabit a gathering of painting and sculpture.
