Friday, 30 June 17:00-19:00 An Introduction to Drawing Repeating Patterns by Hand.

An introduction to drawing repeating patterns by hand is a step-by-step workshop for beginner to create their own design. As a pattern is a repetition of a motif, drawing simple objects on paper and arrange into seamless repeats is easy and applicable to many projects such as textile, wallpaper, book covers, posters, gift wrap, or screen background. All materials are provided, include a range of pencils, a fine liner pen and an A4 layout pad.

Saturday, 1st July 13:00-15:00 How to make a DIY screen-stencil for Crafting Folk Prints
Screen printing at home seem to be messy and difficult to do. This workshop will guide you through easy process of making DIY screen-stencil for printing on any material such as fabric, paper, wood, wallpaper. While explanation of screen printing technique will be discussed. All material will be provided include colour and cotton for test print. Please prepare your design in the size of 10x10 cm with minimum of drawing line thickness of 0.8 mm.

Sunday 2rd July. 13:00-15:00 Crafting Screen-printing Repetitions for Illustrative Prints & Stories
The last session of the series will be how to arrange and position the screen-stencil to achieve repetition print by using 4 simple pattern structures which are Full drop, Half drop, Mirror and Continuous. All materials will be provided including screen-stencils, colour and fabric, but feel free to bring your own DIY screen-stencil or preferable material to be printed.

Crafting Screen-printing Repetitions for Illustrative Prints & Stories £40 per person 

Sunday 2nd July: 15:30 - 17:30 Button Embroidery with Alex Anne Goodwin

Textile Designer Alex Anne Goodwin will teach you the art of hand embroidery in this two hour workshop.

Alex will guide you through basic embroidery stitches. You will then use these stitches with a mix of different yarns and shapes to create you own high decorated button, broach or pendant. 

The workshop will have a maximum of 6 students, so Alex will able to give you plenty of one to one help.

£40 per person, includes all materials including the embroidery hoop, needle, Button base and embroidery yarns, threads. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those who have a little bit of experience and who want to refresh their skills or make a new product.
