Anna Reading: The Pothole Mark Tanner Sculpture Award National Touring Programme 7 March - 20 June 2020

Opening Saturday 7 March 2020 from 2pm

Anna Reading’s MTSA exhibition The Pothole travels to Bury Sculpture Centre as part of the award’s national touring programme. Installed across a floor of vinyl collages, The Pothole presents a series of new sculpture works developed over the past year as the 16th recipient of the major UK award. Combining layers of surplus commodity materials, including shredded foam, gravel, oyster shells, bitumen, chip forks and cardboard, Reading creates a highly tactile and fragmented environment. Her sculptures appear familiar and puzzling at once, existing between life form and architecture, ancient and futuristic and decay and regeneration. There will be an opening preview with drinks and speeches on Saturday 7 March from 2pm, all welcome.
