Administrator & Studios Programme Manager - 21 hours per week
Kingsgate Workshops are looking for a new Administrator & Studios Programme Manager to work with a busy creative community of artists, designers and makers in West Hampstead.
21 hours per week, to include Thursdays and Fridays but otherwise flexible.
£24-£27k pro rata

Working in a small, part-time team in a vibrant arts organisation with exciting and ambitious plans, the Administrator & Studios Programme Manager will divide their time between facilitating the smooth day-to-day running of the office whilst looking after the artist community in the studios, who are at the heart of the organisation.
The idea is to balance the administrative needs of the organisation with maintaining friendly and productive relationships with the artist community. The best approach is to combine a practical approach to policies and office processes, maintaining a degree of discretion, humanity and a good sense of humour!
You’ll be in charge of guiding and developing an events programme stemming from the studio artists, designers and craftspeople, and developed in collaboration with them.
You’ll be working in a beautiful yet slightly crumbly old working arts space, filled to the brim with makers and artists, in sleepy Kilburn. There’s a really nice community café opposite for lunch, we back onto a lovely park and we’re close to Kilburn High Road. Our artists-in-residence, studio holders and maintenance staff pop in and out of the office to chat with us (the door is always open). We tend to start at 10am and finish at 6pm in true arts organisation fashion, but we’re very flexible with how you manage your time but the role will involve occasional evening and weekend work. Where it makes sense, we are open to you working from home a day a week.
We’re looking for someone in this role who can get their head round all the organisational bits of the job, alongside having a relaxed and imaginative approach to problem solving, and a keenness to join in the enthusiastic conversations about the next steps for Kingsgate Workshops Trust.
You’ll be working with and communicating with artists so it helps if you are one, or if you understand them and their ways.
Kingsgate Workshops is a multi-use art space housed within a labyrinthine Victorian factory, providing affordable workspace for an exciting mix of artists, makers and designers. Our leases are not limited, meaning we have a very established community with some studioholders who have been here since the beginning!
Kingsgate Workshops’ Public Programme encourages experimentation, production and critical discourse. We support a crossover between disciplines, an exchange of skills and the development of critical and timely conversations about process, image making and object making. Our Project Space aims to profile a diverse range of contemporary national and international artists with a focus on emerging talent.
