Phil Root was born in Northamptonshire, UK, 1984 and studied at Goldsmiths College, London 2003 - 2006. They currently live and work in Bristol. In 2011 Root took up residency at Wysing Arts Centre where they exhibited work and co-founded The Grantchester Pottery with artist Giles Round. Most recently exhibiting work at Macaulay & Co Fine Art, Vancouver, B.C.  NADA, New York, Serpentine Gallery, Camden Arts Centre, Whitechapel Art Gallery, Jerwood Visual Arts, ICA, London and Spacex, Exeter.
