Kingsgate Artist Residency
Open call for applications from artists to participate in Kingsgate Residency. The residency provides early career artists with the opportunity to develop a new body of work to be presented in a 6 week solo show in the new Kingsgate Project Space.
This residency is part of a programme of 6 residencies over 18 months, generously supported by Arts Council England. For more information on future residencies please sign up to our mailing list.
As part of the residency the artist will receive;
Free studio space, offered for a 6 month period*
Mentoring support from curators, artists and visiting arts professionals
Opportunities to share knowledge and experiences through group crits
A solo exhibition and event opportunities in the Project Space.
Kingsgate Workshops welcomes applications for these spaces from artists who have graduated within the last 5 years from either graduate or postgraduate education institutions. A selection committee will consider the applications and a short-list of suitable candidates will be invited to interview. Selection will be based on three criteria:
the quality of work
the originality of the proposal
the applicants potential to benefit from the programme.
The studio is a raw space of approximately 825sqft to be shared with 2 other residency artists.
The closing date for applications is Monday 8th September at 5pm. (Interviews will take place the w/b 15th September).

*Please note this residency is for a studio only, it is expected that recipients will be London, UK based and should provide their own accommodation.
