Sarah Christie

Ceramics, Sculpture, Painting

Studio 9

Sarah Christie is an artist and educator working in clay, drawing and painting. She has a strong interest in material interactions, emergence, place and the senses, and she works with clay as a material of transformation. Not everything becomes a finished piece of work, but instead contributes to a longer process of revealing something, and informing what might come next. Some of her most recent work has been site-specific and ephemeral. Her work often invites public participation, and in 2019 she showed a large public work in Southwark Cathedral.

Sarah is Associate Lecturer at Central Saint Martins and visiting artist at Imperial College Medical School. She also leads visual arts and creative reflection workshops, and supervises students on the BSc Humanities, Philosophy and the Law degree, also at Imperial's Medical School.
