Erika Winstone

Erika Winstone combines drawn-paintings and gestural video. Her marks transitively capture the music, actions and communications of others in a body of work that includes performance, film and the medieval practice of drawing with metalpoint.

Erika is a member of The London Group and [NAME], a collaboration of four female artists. She has consistently (for twenty two years) worked with her daughter Anna who is a performance artist.

Erika has exhibited nationally and internationally and is featured in the British Museum catalogue Drawing in Silver and Gold: Leonardo to Jasper Johns (2015), Silverpoint and Metalpoint drawing by Schwalb and Mazzullo, (Routledge 2018), Patrick Heide Contemporary Gallery, Ten Years (2018). She had a solo exhibition at Beaconsfield Gallery Vauxhall in 2019. She has curated exhibitions at APT. Cello Factory, Griffin Gallery, ArtHouse1, Danielle Arnaud, 4COSE, Harts Lane, The Crypt, and Hortensia Gallery. She studied MA Fine Art at Kingston University, MFA at Slade, UCL and BA Hons Painting and Contextual Studies at Camberwell College of Arts.
