Brixton Pound Cafe - Zine Launch & Fundraiser w 650mAh

Wed 28th August 2019 6-9pm
Arcade, 87 Lever Street, London EC1V 3RA
Pay-What-You-Can - Cash only!

To coincide with the end of 650mAh's summer residency at Arcade, Brixton Pound Cafe have been invited to share the spoils and raise funds for the project, which is currently looking for a new space.

They will be launching a new zine to celebrate 3 years of pay-what-you-can food for the community, with other classic B£ merch and snacks also available for cash donations.

'Brixton Pound Anthony's Surplus Food Zine Book' is a collaboration between cafe volunteer Anthony Moureau and cafe manager Sean Roy Parker, collating three months' work of new drawings and photographs in a comb-bound riso publication.

Anthony is interested in the ways the cafe communicates its ethos and mission statement with its patrons, and studiously documents the new recipes and barista skills he has learnt whilst volunteering. Sean regularly takes photos of the food staff and volunteers make from surplus food that is available from the cafe on a pay-what-you-can basis, making healthy, exciting food accessible for the whole community.
