18th of November, 7pm at The Angel, Castle St, Cardiff CF10 1SZ.

During her residency at Cardiff Contemporary Maia Conran has been working with The Unbook Prize and The Disembodied Voice research group to consider voices that are out-of-place, out-of-body, speaking out or silenced. These collaborations will be brought together for an event at The Angel. The Disembodied Voice is a collaborative research project which sets out to investigate the relationship between the disembodied voice and contemporary visual culture. They will launch their new publication, The Disembodied Voice and the Cassette Tape which includes artworks by, Maia Conran, Patrick Coyle,
Karen Di Franco, Tom Goddard, Kihlberg & Henry, Francesco Pedraglio, Holly Pester and Claire Potter. Khilberg & Henry will perform Loss of Breath, Lost for Words, a live version of their track from the cassette. Maia Conran will also present her research on The Unbook Prize with collaborator Ronald Suresh Roberts. From traditional to online expressions, they find individual routes to the unbook within dispersed geographies of time, place and the varieties of human voice. The Unbook Prize is supported by Endeavour Press.
